How do I use FTP to upload my photos?

FTP was created for the Internet in 1971 and is rarely used by dotphoto customers today.
FTP is an unsecure protocol: Is FTP still relevant or secure?
The standard dotphoto upload tool will upload up to 1000 photos to an album.
