I use a combination of panning and “dragging the shutter” with flash technique, which gives the nighttime images a definite senses of motion. I am still trying to perfect this technique since sometimes I get too much motion blur. Depth-of-field is very shallow and placing the exact focus point on my subject is hit-in-miss! However, most of the images look fine, if motion blur doesn’t affect you negatively!
