More than 20 junior dragsters from across the Carolinas gathered at Darlington Dragway on Saturday for the annual Kids Racing 4 Kids event presented by the Drag Racers Association of Florence. The top purse was $600. The event benefited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and McLeod Children’s Hospital. “We try to have something for everyone,” Dragway President Ronnie Siders said. The drag strip has events every Wednesday night and most Saturdays. The next big event will be the Memorial Day race on May 14 followed by a huge June 2 event featuring Jet Funny Cars.
