Carnton Plantation "McGavock House" was used as a hospital after the Battle of Franklin, TN. It also is the site of the largest privately owned Confederate Cemetary in the U.S. Carter House was the site of heavy fighting during the Battle of Franklin. Bullet holes can still be seen on the buildings on the grounds.
