As part of our Costa Rica Guanacaste adventure; Kara, Junior and I drove West from our home in the Central Valley to Golfo de Nicoya then up and around the gulf via the Puente de la Amistad de Costa Rica-Taiwan bridge.
We continued West through Guanacaste to Playa Flamigo then further North up to Playa Azucar where the cliffs gave us really great views of the secluded beaches down below.
After a beautiful Pacific sunset on Playa Brasilito, we had dinner at a beach restaurant then a nice evening poolside at the Hotel Conchal - just South of Playa Flamingo.
The next morning we then headed out to Playa Conchal which is only accessible by walking or driving on Playa Brasillito - following the shoreline South to a what appears to be the end of the beach. We parked the car and walked over the hill to a cove that is Playa Conchal where the actual beach consists of sea shells instead of sand. It was REALLY cool ... we had never seen anything like it!
Junior and Kara hunted for starfish and other live marine life on the beach rocks. Then it was time to get back to the hotel where we showered and headed out for a two hour inland drive through Liberia to Parque Nacional Volcán Rincón de la Vieja.
