Located in the Northwestern, Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica near Liberia is Parque Nacional Volcán Rincón de la Vieja.
This diverse Costa Rica National Park is home to the active Rincón de la Vieja and Santa María volcanoes, as well as the dormant Cerro Von Seebach volcano. Non-volcano sights include; natural hot springs, virgin forests, jungle waterfalls and volcanic mud pots. Wildlife includes over 300 species of birds including quetzals, curassows, eagles, etc. Park mammals include cougars, monkeys, kinkajous, jaguars and many more.
Park activities include; River Tubing, Zip Line, Grappling, Rock Wall Climbing, Canopy Tour, Waterfalls Canyoning, Horseback Riding, Cattle Herding, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Volcanic Mud Springs & Spa, etc., etc., etc. Pretty much a one-stop Costa Rica natural adventure destination.
On our first day we drove into the park and walked a trail to the Rio Negro Sulfur Hot Springs which were veeeeerrryy relaxing. We then spent the night at the on-site Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin where the kids enjoyed the pool and we had a nice buffet dinner
The following day after the included full-breakfast, we embarked on the 8am Adventure Tours Canyon Canopy Tour. The pictures and videos will tell the rest of the story ... enjoy!
