May 26, 2002: Today my friend, Charlie, and I escaped on a Sunday drive away from the house up to the Superior, Globe and Miami area of middle eastern Arizona. We spent a delightful time trekking about the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. It is the first time I have returned there in a good many years. The weather was perfect even though it continues desiccatingly dry, so dry that I felt like we walked through a dust laden tender box much of the way particularly in the outer parts of the garden. On wonders when it will *ever* rain!! But then, we do live in a desert.
