Olympics returned to Germany (Munich) in 1972, the first time after World War 2. But just days before the event was to start, the worst tragedy in Olympic history struck when Arab terrorists killed 11 Isreali atheletes. The Olympic park consists of a main Stadium which hosts Football, atheletic events. There are seperate smaller stadiums for Skating, Swimming, indoor sports etc. This place was initially the Munich airport but was cleared to make way for the Olympic stadium. This is a nice place for Joggers and you can find people jogging at any hour of the day. Opposite to the Olympic park is the headquarters of the Bavarian Motors works (BMW).
