i was in thailand for 7 days. i was here earlier this year, but i couldn't help but come back for some excellent thai food. It's def the thing i miss the most of this country. anyway, i spent about 3 days treking through the rainforests of thailand.. i wish i could remember what the rainforests were called but i didn't write it down ..
i took a train up to chaing mai from bangkok.. it took about 13 hours.. and it was grueling! i actually took a flight back to bang kok cause it wasn't worth the price. a trian ticket was 25 bucks, a plane ticket was 60. yep. exactly
in any case, i put an excerpt of my journal entry i wrote after i came back from the treking trip.
here it is:
The first day we did a lot of hiking to the first hill tribe. It rained like crazy, but the sun let up and then it became hot. then it rained some more. Lots and lots of hiking. good thing i brought flip flops to go hiking in. haha. sarcasim sarcasim.. went to the hill tribe, chilled, ate dinner, saw the tribe kids, chilled and played cards till late. sleep, a bit, but not so much.
The second day, hike 3 hours to the river, we went bamboo rafting for 2 hours. good time! The water wasn't too deep, i would say about waist high. All the girls were in the front chillen while all the guys in the back controled the raft. half way the through the tour, the guide who was steering the raft gave me control. oh man, so the first 15 bmin was kinda crazy. but i got used to it and it was really fun. got to the next camp site in 1 piece. At the end of the rafting tour, the guide took over .. we were all going over this dramatic water fall.. and yeah, the raft got stuck half way though and everyone fell. no one got seriously injured so it was cool. then took elephants to the next tribe. This tribe ewas def different. hafl of them could speak conversational english and while we were there , there was a domestic fight. it was crazy. our giude got rediculously drunk and caused great entertainment for the entire night. till 2 am. haha. sleep. not so much
The last day, we went caving. there was so much hiking on this trip.. and caving def was exhausting. caving was awesome! only wish i had a head lamp. Yes, i banged my head on the wall. haha. But i'm okay! no worries. i just didn't see it comin as i had my light on the ground. it took us abut an hour to get through the cave. good times. had lunch and headed back to the guest house. let me tell ya, with 3 days of people not showering or changing clothes. The smell was bad. did i say bad? i mean, horrible. it was mainly due to the backpacks that they lent us. they smelled horrible. so the smell rubbed off on us.
