As a photographer, and a red-blooded Italian-American male, I really enjoy my work, especially when it involves capturing images of pretty, sexy young models like Yamilet Aleman, a 24-year-old Cuban Scorpio (with Leo Rising and a Gemini Moon), who is absolutely fearless in front of a camera lens, and determined to make it in the world of modeling and acting. Since Yamilet originally came to me for assistance in finding ANY kind of job (in my "day job" I wear the hat of "Employment Specialist" and work for a no-fee State public assistance office in the very Hispanic municipality of Hialeah, which is within the Greater Miami area in South Florida). Looking at Yamilet--who can hardly speak English and has virtually NO working skills--and suddenly finding myself in a position of looking for a factory job for Yamilet, in which she might possibly spend her day in a warehouse assembling cellular phones to the tune of $7.50 an hour, did not sit well with me, so, also being a part-time freelance photographer, I offered to take the requisite head shots and body shots (at no charge until she is able to comfortably afford to repay me) which are essential for anyone desirous of entering the world of modeling or acting. Since I also have considerable writing ability and skill at helping clients improve or write their resumes, I also helped Yamilet put together a fabulous resume (well, a fabulous LOOKING resume, considering her lack of practical working skills and limited work experience in this country). Having contacts in the Talent field (since I myself used to be a commercial actor and have been a principal actor in three national commercials as well as an actor in a local documentary which was aired on public television in Miami for two years in the mid-90's) I took it upon myself to connect Yamilet with various modeling and talent agencies, and, as a result, we have entered mutually into a model--manager relationship. I'm happy to say that she has just been asked to sign her first modeling contract with one of them, but I'm not stopping there. Although Yamilet does not have the required 5'9" height for fashion modeling, I never really saw her her as the typical high-fashion type, but, rather, with her distinctively Latin look (Latin is IN these days--if you didn't know) and her beautiful green, piercing Scorpio eyes, her belly-button jewelry and impressive tattoos on her lower back and stomach, her incredible dancing ability and LOVE of dance (Yamilet is an amazing Regetton, hip-hop and Salsa dancer) and her naturally photogenic quality, I believe that I have discovered a diamond-in-the-rough in Yamilet, and I expect that she can really go places in the world of youth-oriented casual wear modeling, lingerie and swimsuit magazine and catalog modeling, as well as performing in music videos and possibly in commercial acting that is aimed at the Hispanic market (and of which there is a LOT of work available in the Miami/Hialeah area).
