Some of our neighbors have lost their jobs, experienced medical conditions, or have experienced other situations which have made it difficult to provide for themselves and their families. Many of these neighbors have needed to turn to the East Hampton Food Bank to assist them during these difficult times. With this need in mind, the Turkey Plunge was hatched. The Crean family, while enjoying the earth's bounty and marveling at the wonder of Lake Pocotopaug, brainstormed about how to help those facing misfortune. We decided to combine East Hampton's two most precious resources, the people of East Hampton and the lake, in an event that will raise funds for the Food Bank and bring the community together. We shared this idea with some friends and one thing let to another and we are proud to say that the Turkey Plunge became a reality. As we head into the holiday season, no East Hampton family should do without as so many of us are blessed with health, food, family and friends.
